Is this an employed or self-employed role?
This is a self-employed delivery driver opportunity. You must already be self-employed or be willing to register as self-employed before starting. As a self-employed driver, you are responsible for your own tax and National Insurance obligations.
Do I need my own van?
No. A delivery van is supplied for your working days. You must collect and return it in line with the agreed arrangements.
Where will I be working from?
The delivery operation works from the DPD depot in Carlisle.
Which days will I be working?
The core requirement is Saturday and Sunday.
Are extra hours available?
Potentially, yes. Additional hours may be available outside the core weekend work depending on operational requirements.
Do I need delivery experience?
No. Previous courier or multi-drop experience is helpful but not essential, and training will be provided.
How many penalty points can I have?
Applicants should have no more than 6 current penalty points on their driving licence.
When will I be paid?
Payments are made every 4 weeks. Full rate and payment details will be confirmed as part of the recruitment process.
Is training provided?
Yes. Successful applicants will receive appropriate training before operating the route independently.
